——National Style (excerpted from Wen Wei Po)

Everyone knows that human life is limited. People's pursuit of immortality indicates the beauty of life, which expresses their attachment to being alive.

As far as we know, the normal lifespan of a person is only around 100 years old, with most people living below 100 years old and few over 120 years old. Even at the age of 100, it may be a long time in a person's life, but it is also quite brief in the long river of history. According to scientific research, the Earth has existed for 4.6 billion years, and human history has been several billion years. If compared to life on Earth, a person's life is only one fourth and a sixth of that on Earth. For example, if length is used to measure life on Earth, if life on Earth is 46 kilometers long, then the length of human life is equivalent to one millimeter, which can be ignored and can be said to be fleeting. However, even such a brief life is not easy. How many living things are there in the world, but how many can survive like humans? According to scientific research, there have been 120 million species of organisms in the world, and humans are the so-called "spirits of all things". We are fortunate enough to be "humans".

However, the journey of life is not smooth sailing. The first reaction of a person born into the world is to cry, which is a struggle against fate and a "desperate cry" that cannot escape suffering. People are born in a pool of blood, which may indicate that their life is destined to suffer and suffer in the world. When a person comes into the world, it is oneself who is crying. Others are laughing; When a person leaves the world, it is others crying and oneself laughing. When you come, crying yourself is a premonition of suffering: others are smiling, it is a welcome to you. When I left, I was laughing. It is a liberation from suffering; Others are crying, it's nostalgia for you. Crying and laughing indicate that humans are rational and emotional animals, with a profound understanding of the laws of life, aging, illness, and death, and a clear response and perception of the opportunities of sadness, joy, separation, and union. Of course, we can extend our lives through physical exercise and modern healthcare measures, but this can only be done appropriately and to a limited extent. Even if we double the current lifespan, it is still negligible compared to the lifespan of nature. This indeed echoes the old saying we often say, which is: "Human life is limited

Since life is limited, in a certain sense, we cannot extend the life of this material to our ideal level, then all we can do is improve the quality of the limited process of life. Make this limited journey of life more meaningful. This has to remind people of the quote from the protagonist of a popular Soviet novel in the mid-19th century, "How Steel is Tempered", Umbal Kochagin: "A person's life should be spent in this way. When he looks back on the past, he should not regret for wasting his time, nor be ashamed of his mediocrity..." Although this quote comes from a small figure like an ordinary soldier, it is indeed a simple truth that it speaks, Almost universally known and revered as a motto, it has inspired generations after generations. What he said is correct. Indeed, it is not easy for a person to have no regrets in their lifetime. Therefore, people often lament that life is short, but do not know that the length of life is not only measured by lifespan. Giving life richer connotations, making it more meaningful and valuable, is equivalent to extending life. We can also use another familiar old saying that "Serve the People is unlimited". Human life is a process of transitioning from limited to infinite through serving others and society.

You should know how to cherish. Life only comes once, and time never turns. Cherish every gift that life gives us. Cherish every inch of time. An inch of time is an inch of gold but you can't buy that inch of time with an inch of gold Confucius exclaimed, "The passing of time is like the passing of time! We are willing to sacrifice day and night." We should spend our limited time on meaningful things. Spend time studying, read more books, learn more, and learn more about the world. Youth without effort, old age with sorrow. Spend time at work and do more things that are beneficial to society. When we leave this Universal Time, we should truly not regret wasting our time, but cherish a grain of rice, an inch of cloth, a piece of paper, and a pencil. "One Congee and one meal are hard won; half of them are hard won." Every service we enjoy and every article we use is the sweat of many people's hard work. When we eat, we only see snow-white rice, but we cannot see farmers working barefoot in muddy fields under the scorching sun; We learn to write with exquisite pencils, but we don't know how many people's labor it takes to make a pencil, from a lumberjack to a paint packaging and delivery to a stationery store. Therefore, one must understand how to cherish blessings. Cherish the friendship between Chingusai. The vast sea of people, it is fate to look back and gather together. Cherish every care that others give you, even if it's a greeting, a smile, or a drop of kindness, when a spring of water reciprocates, let alone a grudge for kindness. Understand to respect, feel, and empathize with others.

Be compassionate. In life, be grateful and have a grateful heart. We grew up in the world and were raised by the earth. Only we owe her, and she owes us nothing. When we were young, we couldn't do without the nurturing of others and grew up eating our mother's milk; Growing up. We cannot do without the help of others, eating the food produced by others, wearing clothes sewn by others, and living in houses built by others; When we are sick, we need someone else to take care of us, and it is also someone who teaches us to read and write. Every step we take is inseparable from others. So, we should respect and tolerate others. Always have a compassionate heart to help others. To regard caring for and helping others as one's duty and become one's own nature. By helping others, one's own soul will also be comforted, and one's realm will also be elevated: "To be a rose to others, leave a lingering fragrance in one's hand

We must have the will and courage to face hardships. The crying that a person is born with indicates that they will go through various hardships in life. The key is to dare to face hardships. Have the confidence and courage to face adversity directly. Kṣitigarbha said: "I will not go to hell, who will go to hell". Seeing suffering for others as one's own honor and responsibility. Only in this way, when a person truly endures hardships, will they forget them, and only when they never care about being subjected to hardships. Ending hardships is not a punishment, but a joy. Many important things in the world can only be realized through enduring hardships, as the saying goes, "A great heart can embody all things in the world. Sometimes, by enduring hardships, truth and love can be expressed, and conscience in human nature can be awakened. Only by daring and daring to endure hardships can a person develop an invincible will, continuously increase moral courage, and even face death fearlessly. Mencius said, "When the heavens bring down great responsibilities to the people of this country, they must first work hard on their minds, labor their muscles and bones, and starve their bodies and skin..." This is also what he meant.

In this world, each of us is a passing traveler and a traveler. No matter how beautiful the scenery is along the way, you can only enjoy it, but you cannot take it away; The inn on the road may be comfortable, but you are just a stranger. It doesn't belong to you. The weak water is three thousand, you can only take a ladle to drink. People come into the world naked, but also leave the world naked. They bring nothing with them in life, and they cannot take anything with them in death. Whether you are a monarch or a prisoner, a wealthy person or a beggar, you are no exception. This is a fixed number given by the Creator, a law that no one can change. The "good song" in "Dream of the Red Chamber" is better and more thorough. Fame, fame, and wealth are all external things, even your body, which grows by eating the grains of the earth and drinking the natural water and dew, must ultimately be returned to the earth, turned into manure, and returned to nature. So, it's important to have a clear mind and think through life thoroughly. In the rolling world of mortals, one should learn to "cherish one's own feathers". Wang Yangming said, "The human heart is originally a natural principle, refined and clear, without fiber, but without self." Only by entering the realm of self, can one transcend the temptation of material desires, "there is nothing originally, where can dust be stained." Thus, one can live a clean life from beginning to end, and complete the journey of life, which is the character of life.
